Coming Winter 2014

*Please note, we do not take area or table reservations on the rooftop. For exclusive hire of the WigWamBam during the winter months email:

You know Autumn has truly arrived when you’re riding the bus down Shoreditch High Street and you spot an 8 metre high tipi on the rooftop of the Queen of Hoxton! WigWamBam is back but this time with a twist. Inspired by the Nordic regions and the green flickering curtain of the Northern Lights, this year’s WigWamBam will feature East London’s very own answer to Mother Nature’s theatre of light - The Eastern Lights. These pretty visuals will be projected onto the exterior and interior of the wigwam structure.

Inside the wigwam you’ll experience an atmosphere of Scandinavian settlement meets Norwegian tribe; a cosy den of deer hide covered seating, candlelit lanterns, colourful indigenous wall hangings and of course, the roaring flames of the central open grill cooking a daily rotating menu of delicious polar region inspired cuisine. Think Wild Boar Sausages with Forest Fruit Chutney, Leg of Pork with Chestnut and Herb Stuffing and Hot Smoked Salmon and Dill Burger. And it wouldn’t be a Queen of Hoxton experience without a well stocked bar of winter warmers such as Hot Gin Punch and Hot Pumpkin Spiced Cider. Don’t forget to tear yourself away from the wigwam snug, grab a stick of marshmallows and get toasting over the fire pits, yum!

If you have a keen eye, be prepared to unearth a discovery of your own elsewhere on the rooftop. Explorer, Arthur Lane has made his mark on the Queen of Hoxton and it’s up to you to tweet your findings for fellow pioneers to uncover too... The magnetic force of our East pole will draw you in and transport you to the cosiest rooftop in town. Think you know the WigWamBam? It’s not quite as you remember it, so get yourself up here!

This season sees an extended programme of ‘Drink & Do’ workshop events in the WigWamBam that include: spoon carving with Barn, a pinhole photography workshop, speed listening, Heads & Bodies, pumpkin carving and origami workshops! See WigWamBam at the Queen of Hoxton Facebook page for details and tickets.

‘Drop it likes its HOT’

Rooftop Summer Club is all about forgetting your responsibilities, being spontaneous and getting involved. Whether it’s extra-curricular, or just an afternoon skive/‘meeting’ which requires sun, slushies and a hot smokin’ BBQ, Rooftop Summer Club caters for all your seasonal needs in the city.

In collaboration with design collective Gang of Six, Rooftop Summer Club hosts a bespoke summer long installation ‘Whirl-oscope’. The carousel-like pavilion houses tethered swing seats and rotates 360° amongst views of the city. The Whirl-oscope will act as a hub for our programme of summer club workshops and activities, and no doubt be an exciting ride for the rest of us!

Just like the summer holiday clubs your parents used to drop you off at, our Rooftop Summer Club will be filled with workshops and activities to keep your mind and hands busy. Get involved in tie-dying with Tie Dye High Five, a ridiculous yet utterly serious Tape Measure Challenge hosted by The House of Hot Breath, super/collider monthly Pop-up Astronomy club, Sesame’s Origami, Saturday morning holistic sessions with Fat Buddha Yoga, urban knitting with Wool & The Gang, crafternoons of pimping your sunnies/scrunchies/headbands with Use It Up Wear It Out and much more…

Remember our Headphone Holiday silents discos last year with Jazzie B and Norman Jay? Expect more of the same this year, as we collaborate with exciting collectives on rooftop parties - keep an eye on social media for exciting DJ line up announcements.

We’ll keep you fed and watered with our daily BBQ menu to include what has been a real hit the last couple of years, the classic Aberdeen Angus Burger. Plus delicious marinated haloumi or chicken skewers and blackened chilli, ginger and lime salmon fillets should get those taste buds going! To wash it all down, we'll be serving freshly made Ginger Beer and Pineapple-Aid to spike with your favourite spirit as well as refreshing cocktail slushies!
